Here’s a handy chart that I came across on foodista, having originally been published by Spark, a website dedicated to combatting childhood obesity. I posted it on my facebook page a few weeks ago, but also thought it worthy of a blog post of its own.
I have to admit that I’m guilty of putting ham in my kids’ lunchboxes, but am now using lean grilled chicken breast instead. It’s not a huge leap for me, as I often have it on hand as a snack for myself. I’m glad to have had the resources to boost lunchbox nutrition a little bit more!
Most major supermarkets now stock gluten-free naan or pita bread, but you may also like to try the gluten-free chickpea flatbread recipe, which I posted a few months ago.
I hope it’s useful!
