Let’s add conversion to the conversation

30/05/2013 By Kate Crocker 8 Comments

One of the lovely things about blogging is that readers can come from all parts of the globe – visitors can drop in from anywhere, at any time. Right from the early days of my blog, this aspect has delighted me – I’m still sent into a giddy spin every time I get a new subscriber, especially one from a different country.

Here in Australia, we operate on the metric measurement system which, according to Wikipedia, pre-dates revolutionary France. Many of my northern hemisphere readers use the imperial system. So it seems a good idea to include a conversion chart in my blog. I thought I’d create my own chart in this post but when I went looking, I found a chart so handy and so easy to read that there seemed little point in reinventing the wheel, so to speak.

From Australia’s biggest food and recipe website, Taste, click here for a handy chart.

To assist you, I’ve created a new category called Conversion chart which you can see on the menu on the right. It will take you to this post.

Happy converting!

Happy to help. I don’t know why it didn’t occur to me sooner, actually.

Great idea for a post. I have an app on my phone that I constantly use for this, otherwise I would be lost in all this global recipe sharing (which is awesome!).

Yep, thank God for phone apps. I thought this chart was really useful because it’s produced by Australians and I’m an Australian cook…. just in case things like cup measurements differ from what you’re used to. Love global recipe sharing … cooks without borders!

Great idea! Mum’s recipes are still Imperial. I am forgetting the old measures now. This website sounds just the thing for my aging brain.

… and just the thing for those of us who were born after the metric system was introduced!
