Review: BFree multigrain wraps

BFree Wraps
BFree Wraps

I gave up on gluten-free wraps some time ago. They either broke as soon as I tried to fold them, or their taste was so odd that I couldn’t convince my kids to eat them (and who’d blame them?).

Then I tried BFree wheat and gluten-free multigrain wraps. I took the picture above so that you can see how easily the wraps bend into shape, without a sign of cracking or crumbling. They taste as wraps should – a very mild slightly savoury taste that doesn’t overpower the fillings. When I sent them to school, lunchboxes came home empty. Enough said? I also put a wrap in a frypan with a little oil and browned both sides on medium high. It was absolutely delicious to eat and I could imagine enjoying it with a platter of Greek dips. That’s right – use it as a gluten-free alternative to pitta bread and enjoy dips, souvlaki and yiros, just like you did before you went gluten-free.

The wraps are free from gluten, wheat, dairy, egg and soy and are made from a variety of flours to boost fibre.

BFree is an Irish product and has just launched in the Australian market, available at selected Woolworths stores.

BFree Packaging

My package of BFree wraps was provided to me by agents of BFree Foods Ltd. The opinions in this post are my own.

Kate, thank you for this. Yes, all other wraps fall apart and so I just get up half an hour earlier each morning to make wraps from scratch ( I use Laucke Bread Mix and recipe).
I haven’t seen this product up here in the tropics, but I will do some searching.

Kate, I agree with you – they have a good texture that wraps easily, not dry and brittle, and are pleasant to chew! I came across them a few weeks ago somewhere in Adelaide (but still trying to remember where, as my local supermarkets don’t stock them….)
